Hi, I’m Char,

I've always been drawn to bold, punchy flavors—wasabi, horseradish, sriracha, Malört… okay, maybe not Malört. But speaking of beverages, where’s the drink that packs a punch? I'm a huge fan of ginger (obviously), but mass-produced ginger beer and ginger ales always leave me craving less sugar and more of the fiery kick that makes ginger so special.

Chicago, where I proudly call home, is a city full of innovation and craft beverage culture, yet I couldn’t find a locally made, fresh ginger beer that delivered the flavor I was looking for. So I decided to make it myself.

So, who is Gigi?

Gigi is my mother’s nickname—Virginia. She’s the reason I fell in love with ginger in the first place. Growing up, she swore by it as a “cure-all.” If you had the sniffles, you drank ginger ale. If your stomach was upset, you had ginger chews. Ginger was always the answer.

Gigi’s Ginger Beer is named in her honor—a nod to those early lessons in comfort, care, and the simple power of ginger done right.
